The car is driving towards the side of the road. In road tests, it can be seen from the drag marks between the brake wheels and the ground that one side has deep drag marks and the other side has shallow drag marks, even without any drag marks. In the vehicle inspection line, it can be seen that at the end of the braking process, there is a significant difference in the maximum braking force generated by the left and right brake wheels.

The main reasons for the difference in braking force between the left and right wheels caused by air brakes are as follows. Below, we will introduce it to you.

1. Inconsistent tire pressure between the two front wheels;

Solution: Charge the left and right air pressure of the front wheels to the same pressure.

2. The gap between the front wheel brake shoes and the brake drum is inconsistent;

Solution: Adjust the front axle brake adjustment arm, loosen the wheels with high braking force by 1-2 turns, and tighten the wheels with low braking force by 1-2 turns. After adjustment, ensure that the front wheels are not too tight.

3. There is a significant difference in the contact surface between the front wheel brake shoes and the brake drum;

Solution: Adjust the front axle brake adjustment arm to the minimum brake clearance, drive the vehicle at a low speed of 3-5 kilometers, wait for the front wheel brake shoes to smoke, stop, release the brake adjustment arm to 3 buckles, wait for the front wheel brake drum to cool down, and then verify. If there is still slight brake deviation, adjust and verify according to Article 2.

4. Uneven and deformed processing of the left and right brake drums of the front wheels;

Solution: Adjust the left and right brake drums to verify the braking effect. If the braking is biased in the opposite direction, replace the brake drum with a smaller braking force and re verify.

5. The top rods of the left and right brake chambers of the front wheels are not synchronized during braking;

Solution: Remove the air pipe from the brake chamber, block the air pipe with your hand (if possible, connect a pressure gauge), step on the brake pedal, and check if the pressure at the air outlet of the air pipe is the same. If it is basically the same, replace the air chamber where the top rod of the brake chamber moves slowly. If there is a significant difference in the pressure at the air outlet, check and replace the pipeline or brake master valve.

6. Inconsistent wheelbase on the left and right sides;

Solution: Measure whether the wheelbase on the left and right sides is consistent. If the wheelbase difference between the left and right sides exceeds 5mm, it is necessary to adjust the wheelbase on the left and right wheels.

Uneven distribution of vehicle wheel load, incorrect front wheel alignment, and displacement of front and rear axles will all lead to brake deviation.

If the above-mentioned measures still cannot solve the problem of brake deviation, the rear axle can be further investigated and analyzed according to the above measures.
